Synergies[edit | edit source]
- : Provides the only available method for getting rid of Missing No.
In-game footage[edit | edit source]
Strategy[edit | edit source]
- There is no real strategy to Missing No. as it randomizes all the player's items. The benefit of the randomization can be added by collecting more items to increase the chance of a good item synergy.
- However, this item can be used to gain more health if desperately needed, as the randomization does often include items that grant you various types of hearts.
- If the player has already obtained a large number of items (such as during a run where they have gained infinite money in greed mode), it is highly recommended to avoid this item, as it will almost always end up rerolling all the items the player has thus far collected into .
- Due to losing all items every level, it is beneficial to try to gain permanent stat boosts if possible. These include using pills when equipped with or , sacrificing health with to gain damage or to gain tears, or using up .
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- This item is a reference to the infamous Missing No. glitch occurring in the first Pokémon games. The glitch would often corrupt save files, and therefore randomize various parts of the game as it would use the incomplete index values attributed to entities not included in the final release of the game. Isaac's appearance when affected by Missing No. is based on this glitch which could cause the player's sprite to become scrambled.
- The item also resembles the painting 'Composition with Red, Yellow, and Blue' by Dutch painter Piet Mondrian.
- The background color for the Missing No. achievement has the same color as all the challenge unlocks. This implies that Missing No. was originally intended to be unlocked via a challenge. (Or, perhaps, it was intended to be looked at as an error.)
- The background color for the Suicide King achievement has the same color as all the boss rush unlocks. This implies that potentially Lazarus would have unlocked Suicide King for completing the Boss Rush and the Suicide Kingchallenge would have unlocked Missing No.

There are two versions of the 100% Discount Coupon: Tier 6 Ship, one of which is earned from Event Campaigns, the other from Zen Store purchases. Ships in the New section of the C-Store are not available with the Event version of the coupon, these are typically the most recently released ships. The Zen Store version does not share this limitation. Additionally, the Event Coupons are normally Account-Bound, while Zen Store versions are normally tradable (except for a few exceptions, e.g. bundles) with other players directly. They cannot be sold on the exchange. The first run for the item was done during 2019 with the following queues as part of the rotation. This run of it was only available on PC:
- Mission: Operation Riposte (April 18th 2019 - June 9th 2019)
- Mission: Crystalline Catastrophe (June 6th 2019 - June 27th 2019)
- Mission: Arena of Sompek (August 8th 2019 - August 29th 2019)
50 Event Progress (originally named Coupon Progress Tokens) were earned for each run of the queue with a cooldown of 20 hours between acquiring them. During Bonus Progress Token Weekends, this is doubled to 100, but there have been no Bonus Weekends since then. The first event required 3000 Event Progress and the subsequent event required 2100 Event Progress. For the most recent event, the Coupon was released on Console and PC, and was bundled with 200 , with the total amount required being 2800.
